Alex J. Gonzalez, Esq., hails from Worcester, Massachusetts, but grew up in the vibrant city of Miami, Florida. After completing his education at the esteemed Christopher Columbus HS, a local Catholic high school, he pursued higher studies at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, Florida. During his time at UCF, he honed his legal skills by working as a law clerk, paralegal, and investigator for Egan, Lev & Siwica, P.A., a renowned labor and employment law firm with an impressive clientele, including prominent labor unions like Teamsters, Int’l Union of Operating Engineers, and the NFL Players Association. He later pursued his passion for law at the Roger Williams University (RWU) School of Law in Bristol, Rhode Island. During this time, he became an active member of the local maritime association and earned prestigious accolades such as the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Ocean & Coastal Law and Advanced Legal Writing, among others. As a law student, he also gained valuable experience as an intern at Settipane & Associates, an exclusive Plaintiff personal injury law firm in Providence, Rhode Island. Following his graduation from RWU, he returned to his roots in South Florida, where he was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida and the U.S. District Courts of Florida. Over the years, Alex has passionately represented both Plaintiffs and Defendants in a wide range of legal matters, including admiralty and maritime cases, business torts, commercial litigation, and contract disputes. His expertise extends to assisting international clients in various legal areas, including maritime wrongful death, maritime personal injury, labor and employment, and commercial transportation cases. He has gained a wealth of experience in international and domestic arbitration, working with prominent rules and conventions such as the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) Employment Rules, the AAA’s International Centre for Dispute Resolution (“ICDR”) Rules, the International Bar Association (“IBA”) Rules, the International Court of Arbitration (“ICC”) Rules, the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (“ICCA”) (The Hague circa 2014), and the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (“New York Convention” circa 1958). As a partner at the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., he has vigorously represented clients in State and Federal courts all across Florida and has also been involved in International Arbitration proceedings representing Cruise Line Guests (Passengers) victims and valued Crew Member clients in various regions, including the Caribbean, South America, India, and Southeast Asia. Alex's dedication to fighting for Plaintiffs who have suffered due to the negligence of others continues to drive his successful legal career.
